Friends and foes, traps and treasure. The Underworld teems with wealth and dangers unimaginable. How will you navigate these treacherous paths?

Underworld Encounters

There are many chambers in the underworld.

These icons will guide you as you choose your path.

Boon

A blessing offered by one of the Olympian gods. Boons will power up Zagreus and his abilities.

A sliced pomegranate.

Pom of Power

Eating this fruit won't give you any abilitites - but it will let you upgrade a power up you already possess.

A stylized heart.

Centaur Heart

The centaur heart provides you with a boost to your max health this encounter.

A coin bearing the symbol of Charon.

Charon's Obols

A currency used to buy merchandise from Charon's shop. Can be used to purchase power ups from him.

A bottle of golden liquid.

Nectar

A powerful and rare resource which can be given to the game's NPCs to earn their favour.

An ornate blacksmithing hammer.

Daedalus Hammer

A master craftsman's hammer, which provides a power up to your weapon.

A teardrop purple gemstone.

Darkness

A currency used to strengthen Zagreus and his abilities between runs.

A silver key with a purple gem.

Chthonic Key

Used to unlock new bonuses for Zagreus, as well as new weapons.

Green, yellow, and red gemstones.

Gemstones

A currency used to expand and decorate the Underworld. Unlocks new chambers and encounter types.

A coin purse with a decorative skull emblem.

Charon

The shopkeeper of the Underworld. Charon's shop has no monsters, and allows Zagreus to spend his Obols in exchange for power ups.

NPC Chamber

A rare encounter with no monster battles. Each zone of the Underworld has its own NPC, who provides Zagreus with a choice of powerful rewards.
